Margaret Atwood's new novel mines familiar terrain, as Year of the Flood is a sequel of sorts to Oryx and Crake (2003). Atwood is in top form as she fleshes out the details of a new world order which has its basis in what is happening in the world today. Atwood spins a great yarn that also forces you to face what you may well not want to face -- how we live today will have a direct impact on life tomorrow.
